Staying Free
Staying free is not hard; but it takes a lot of work and most of all discipline. James 4:7-8 is a powerful verse, very rich in context. It teaches first, ” To submit yourselves therefore to God.” To be obedient to our Lord Jesus. Second.” Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
To resist, is to stand firm against sin and all temptations. Verse 8 (To be close to God.) ” Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
We need to see the need to turn ourselves from sin.
Other great verses to memorize are 1 John 4:18-19. “God has not given us a spirit of fear.” Luke 10:19″ We have been given all power, to stand against Satan and his associates. Zechariah 2:5 teaches” God is a wall of fire around us” the most important thing is discipline, discipline, discipline. Very important to staying free.
